We all know and are big fans of Hidesign, a premium leather brand! Hidesign and Future Group together worked hard and created their baby brand, Holii. A lot of you might have seen this brand in malls, etc. This brand has sky-rocketed since it’s birth and is known for it’s great quality and beautiful designs. Today, I bring to you, a short but exclusive interview with Devika Sekhar, Holii Manager – PR Communications and Marketing!
Q1: What was the idea behind Holii?
Holii was launched in 2009 as a part of a close partnership between Hidesign and Future Group. Aimed at bringing in a distinct Indian aesthetic to bags, Holii has the goodness of Hidesign’s renowned expertise in making leather bags and Future Group’s knowledge of the soul of the Indian consumers.
Holii presents the modern Indian women with a range of handbags and accessories that reflect her lifestyle and heritage. Crafted in real leather, the distinct look of Holii comes from from re-designing age old Indian motifs from a contemporary angle and adorning them on global bag shapes. Holii works around two seasonal collections each year that are inspired by the pulse of a cosmopolitan India.
In a span of 6 years Holii is proud to have made a name for itself as the original Indian premium leather bag brand. At present the brand is available through 13 exclusive boutiques across India, over 50 multi brand outlets like Central, Shoppers Stop etc, and online on Jabong, Myntra, Amazon, and our Holii website.
Q2. What is the price range of these bags?
Holii’s price range varies according to different designs and bags. But mostly, Rs 1995- 6495.
Clutches: Rs 1595-1895; Wallets: Rs 795 – 1595; Small Accessories: Rs 595- 995.
Q3. What all products do you offer under Holii?
Currently, Holii products cater to women and the range of products includes handbags, clutches, travel bags, small accessories, wallets and bag jewellery. There are also some exciting developments in the pipeline which our Holii customers will hear about soon.
Q4. Who was your target audience in the beginning and has it changed now?
The Holii customer initially was the 25-35 years urban modern Indian woman who revels in colours and likes to mix and match. Over the years, we have noticed our customers ranging from the ages of 27 -40 yrs old.
We have also seen our customer base develop to the international woman passing through to take back a piece of India with them. Holii, in that respect has something for that modern Indian woman. She follows international fashion and likes her look to be contemporary but with highlighted Indian accents.
Q5. How would you describe Holii bags in one line?
Holii is colorful and playful, embracing the rich diversity of true India for the woman of today.
Q6. How would you describe your Holii journey in one line?
Having joined Holii, I can truly say never is there a dull day. There is so much to do and learn from the company and my colleagues. The Holii team is small, but we are strongly committed to the brand Holii represents.
Q7. Holii has created quite a place in many people’s hearts in a very little time. What makes it so different from all the other brands in the market?
Holii is the only genuine hand crafted embossed leather Handbag Company in India. Our statement embosses with intricate detailing make our handbags, clutches and wallets stand out.
