1. Always use a sunscreen

Some people don’t use sunscreen in the rainy season thinking that there is no sun outside but even if there is no sun your skin is still prone to tanning which might lead to fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation. UVA rays are the ones that make your skin tan even on a cloudy day. So always use a sunscreen on your whole body with an adequate SPF to save yourself from tanning!

2. Cleanse Your Skin

Monsoons are the time when your skin is the most oily and all the dirt and grime will settle on your skin owing to the oiliness. You should keep yourself really clean and sweat free. Wash your face 3 times a day with a mild cleanser and apply a light weight moisturizer. If you happen to live in a damp area make sure to apply some fungal powder in the spaces between your fingers and toes, underarms and the groin area after you take a shower. This will help keep skin infections at a bay.

3. Keep Yourself Hydrated

Humidity in the atmosphere makes us sweat a lot due to which our body loses water. So it is important to keep yourself hydrated as much as possible. Drink at least 7-8 glasses of water everyday. It will also keep your skin fresh and glowy. You can even include lemonade or fresh juices in your diet. Fruits and vegetables like cucumber, watermelon, tomatoes have a high percentage of water in them and are also healthy to eat!

4. Stay Dry

Monsoons accompany a lot of humidity and rain due to which our bodies tend to be wet with sweat or rain water which gives home to bacteria and fungi to grow. The only way to avoid infections is to stay dry. Carry some spare clothes and a pair of socks if you’re wearing shoes so that you can change whenever necessary. Always carry dry tissues and a small talcum powder and if any part of your body tends to sweat a lot then just dry it with a tissue followed by some talcum powder.

5. Use the Right Make-Up

Do not use cream based make-up that you use on normal days because it’s all gonna wash off with sweat. Use lightweight foundations or BB creams. Stick to waterproof and smudge proof make up so your eye liner and kajal stay in place and you don’t end up looking like a raccoon. Always remember to wash off your makeup at the end of the day no matter how tired you are!
