REVIEW: My Envy Box (March ’16 – Holi edition)

Have you had a chance to check out the Holi edition of My Envy Box yet? While the theme and the products have been curated keeping in mind the festival of Holi, these can very well be used later on as well. Each product belongs to a different brand and all have their own special purpose to solve.

My Envy Box

The products in this month’s box are:

1. B-blunt Climate Control Anti-frizz Leave-in Cream

B-blunt says – This versatile cream ensures your hair looks great, however hot, dry or humid it gets out there. It enhances natural movement, smoothens and leaves you in charge, whatever the weather. Specially created for Indian hair. Protects from the environment and heat styling damage.

How to Use – Works best on damp, towel dried hair. Take a small quantity into your palms. Apply evenly, focusing on mid-lengths & ends, keeping away from the scalp. Style as desired.

What I think – I have been using this product for a week now and honestly, this does save me from unwanted frizz. It helps me during shoots and protects my hair from hair straightener damage. The only thing I’ve not liked about this product would be that it makes my hair look oily after a while. But if you’re one with dry to normal hair, you should definitely try this!

2. Hedonista Fleur Frozen Ittar

Hedonista says – A solid perfume inspired by rainforests and wild flowers. Bask in pleasure gardens. Handmade & all natural: High-quality ingredients for indulgent rituals. NO Palm oil, Artificial colourants or fragrance, Sulphates, Silicones, Parabens, Petroleum derivatives, Phthalates, Amines, PEGs, Formaldehyde. We use only food-grade preservatives. No animal testing.

How to use – Using your finger, apply behind the ears, on the wrists, throat and backs of knees.

Net weight – 20 gm.

What I think – My dad uses Ittar regularly and thus he graciously accepted my request to try and review the product. According to him, the packaging is very travel-like and thus easy to carry. He likes the fragrance and says that it is long-lasting, just like Ittar. He definitely gave this product a thumbs up!

3. Bioderma SPF 50+ Cream

Bioderma says – Reduces and prevents redness. Guarantees optimum UVA/UVB protection against the harmful effects of the sun (sunburn, sun intolerance, etc.). Activates the skin’s natural defences, protects from risks of cellular damage and combats premature cutaneous ageing. Its natural colouring evens out the complexion.

How to use – Several times a day when exposed to the sun. Apply evenly and liberally before exposure (a smaller amount of product reduces the level of photoprotection). Re-apply frequently, before and after swimming, rubbing and playing sports. Do not expose babies or young children to the sun. Excessive sun exposure is harmful to your health.

SPF 50+/UVA 33

  2. Paraben-free
  3. Waterproof
  4. Photostable
  5. Non-comedogenic
  6. Hypoallergenic

4. AVA Body Moisturizer with SPF 30

AVA says – AVA White rain face and body moisturizer is made of pure white essential oils of jasmine, mogra and vanilla improves the elasticity of the skin with its anti-blemish and anti-aging properties while protecting the skin with natural SPF oils. It absorbs quickly leaving no greasy residue on your skin.

Net weight – 50 ml.

Price: INR 150

What I think – A fairly new brand for me as I haven’t heard of this brand ever, this moisturizer surprised me to a whole new level. It isn’t greasy, just as it claims. Absorbs quickly. The jasmine, mogra and vanilla amalgamate together perfectly to give an irresistible yet calming aroma. The packing is lightweight and perfect to be carried around in a purse or bag. Haven’t seen any visible difference in the ‘anti-blemish’ and ‘anti-aging’ front though.

5.  Vita-age In: Innovation Face Scrub

Vita-age In says – This non-aggressive yet extremely effective scrub removes dead cells from the skin’s surface while promoting their replacement with new cells and an improved oxygenation of the skin, leaving it soft and radiant with a uniform colour. It improves the conditions of the skin worn by time and cleanses deeply, removing dead cells and impurities. Cellular renewal provides the foundation of any aesthetic improvement treatment for all skin types. The micro-granules that perform a mechanical action are immersed in a soft cream, which is rich in natural active ingredients that, when massaged in, perform a softening action, allowing for deep-down cleansing even on sensitive skin.

How to use – Apply to the face and neck 2 or 3 times a week, and massage in a circular motion. Rinse thoroughly with plenty of warm water.

Net weight (in My Envy Box) – 5 ml.

I hope that this helps you know the products better. This edition, just like all the others is priced at INR 850 and can be purchased via My Envy Box website. You can also opt for a monthly or an yearly subscription. The latter will of course cost you lesser than the former.
